Ashleigh Gardner entered her name in the history books on Wednesday, October 1, by becoming the first cricketer to score a century after coming out to bat at No. 6 or lower in a Women’s ODI World Cup match. Gardner came out to bat at No. 6 for Australia in the second match of the ongoing ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 in Indore against New Zealand and crossed the 100-run mark in just 77 balls.

She smashed New Zealand captain Sophie Devine for a four on the first ball of the 46th over to complete her century.
