A huge chunk of a Bronx public housing building collapsed during a gas explosion Wednesday morning — miraculously injuring no one, officials said.

First responders descended on the Mitchel Houses building on Alexander Avenue near East 135th Street around 8:10 a.m., on a report of a gas explosion inside, the FDNY said.

Firefighters found that the incinerator shaft had collapsed inside the 20-story building, officials said. 4

Miraculously, no one was hurt — but photos show a huge slab of the building’s exterior missing after the incident.

The NYPD responded and secured the building, setting up a perimeter around it. 4
