In recent years, becoming a two-division UFC champion has turned into a trend. Instead of making multiple title defences, many fighters quickly move up in weight to chase another belt. Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria are the latest examples of this new path to greatness. Now, Magomed Ankalaev has his eyes on joining that list. He recently stated that after a few successful title defences, he fully intends to move up to heavyweight.

In a conversation with the NY Post, Ankalaev has stated that after defending the title on a couple of occasions, he wants to make the move to heavyweight.
