Game 1 was less about Boston’s brilliance and more about Yankees manager Aaron Boone’s tactical blunders. Behind a dominant outing from Garrett Crochet, the Red Sox beat the Yankees 3-1 to take control of the series. Crochet struck out 11 in 7 2/3 innings and didn’t issue a walk, shutting down a star-studded New York lineup.
