COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - On Wednesday, First Alert 6 expects to learn new details about a deadly police shooting in Council Bluffs back in August.

A news conference will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

At about 5:35 p.m. on Aug. 27, an Iowa State Patrol trooper did a traffic stop near the 77 mile marker of Interstate 29.

According to a report from the Iowa Department of Public Safety, a man identified as Michael Broyles, 48, of Battlefield, Missouri, brandished a firearm and then fled.

A pursuit began around 6 p.m. and ended near the Pottawattamie County Jail a short time after, according to authorities.
