PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Congressional Democrats and Republicans failed to strike an agreement late Wednesday to keep government programs and services running, plunging the U.S. into a government shutdown.
The government shutdown could impact air travel, national parks, museums and more programs. In the last shutdown seven years ago, Arizona had funds to keep the Grand Canyon open. However, this time, the national park will reportedly shut down, just as part of the North Rim was set to reopen from the devastating Dragon Bravo Fire.
Earlier this summer, the Dragon Bravo Fire ripped through the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, burning over 140,000 acres and destroying dozens of historic buildings, including the Grand Canyon Lodge . Firefighters battled the flames for nearly three months, but fi
