Yankees YES Network announcer Michael Kay joined the Aaron Boone opposition after Tuesday’s 3-1 loss against the Red Sox .

With the Yankees leading 1-0 in the seventh inning, Boone opted not to push starter Max Fried, who had thrown 6 1/3 scoreless innings on 102 pitches. Instead, the manager turned to Luke Weaver, who proceeded to give up two runs . Devin Williams allowed another in the ninth as Boston seized a 3-1 lead.

In the YES Network’s postgame show, Kay admitted that, initially, he agreed with the move. But upon further review, he had a change of heart.
