(Reuters) -General Motors reported a 7.7% rise in its U.S. auto sales during the third-quarter on Wednesday, aided by strong demand for electric vehicles and SUVs.

GM's overall quarterly sales rose to 710,347 units, compared with 659,601 units a year ago.
