TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - An 18-year-old is in custody in connection with a deadly shooting at Perrytown Apartments , according to the Perry Police Department.

Jaquez Price, 18, was initially arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder, according to online jail records from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

However, a grand jury returned a lesser charge of manslaughter on September 25. He is now charged with burglary/assault and manslaughter.

His next court appearance on October 7th is expected to be an arraignment.

Perry Police Chief Jamie Cruse said Price was being treated in Tallahassee for injuries and is now at the Leon County Jail.
