INDIANAPOLIS — A jury in Marion County convicted a man Tuesday, Sept. 30 for a Thanksgiving murder on Indianapolis' east side nearly two years ago.
Efrem Edmondson, of Indianapolis, has been convicted of murder, possession of firearm by a serious violent felon and residential entry for the murder of Ousman Gasama .
On Oct. 23, Edmonson was sentenced to 67 years for the crimes.
Around 8:30 a.m. Nov. 23, 2023, IMPD officers responded to an apartment located in the 200 block of North Shortridge Road , near East Washington Street and Shadeland Avenue, on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived on scene, they said they found Gasama fatally shot outside one of the apartment buildings in a courtyard. The prosecutor's office said Gasama was sitting upright.
