QUINCY (WGEM) - The suspect in Monday night’s shooting at 8th and Lind was still at large after police searched an apartment complex and closed part of Maine Street Tuesday.

An apparent standoff took place at Cardinal Apartments near Flinn Stadium, but later police disclosed it was a false alarm.

City of Quincy Communications Specialist Kristin Niemann said police arrived at the location in response to a tip alleging Dyrece T. Knaff, 21, was in the building.

Knaff was wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into Monday’s shooting, which left two people injured.

After entering the building, law enforcement determined Knaff was not present, and that he is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.
