A 26-year-old man has been sentenced in connection with a shooting and arson investigation in Colwood last year, while a second suspect remains at large.

On Sept. 26, Abjeet Kingra was sentenced in Victoria provincial court for his role in the Sept. 2, 2024 incident on Ravenwood Road at the home of Indo-Canadian rapper AP Dhillon.

Kingra received six years for discharging a firearm into a residence and two years for arson, to be served simultaneously. With credit for time already served in custody since his arrest in Ontario last October, he has about four and a half years left to serve. He is also under a lifetime firearms ban.
