CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Champaign Unit 4 School Board expects to select a new superintendent in January, according to a new timeline from the consulting firm it is working with. Before then, a community survey has gone live to aid in the search.

It's been five months since the school board parted ways with Dr. Shelia Boozer amidst tension between those in support of her keeping her job and those who wanted to move on. Dan Casillas has served as Acting Superintendent since then.

In August, the board selected JG Consulting to lead the search for a permanent superintendent, and all seven board members met with the firm's representatives.
