BEIJING — Charleston’s Emma Navarro upset top-seeded Iga Świątek with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 win in the fourth round of the China Open on Wednesday.

It was the 24-year-old Navarro's fourth career win over a top-five opponent and her first top-10 victory since the Australian Open in January. Świątek, ranked No. 2 in the world, committed 70 unforced errors.

After getting broken and falling behind 2-0 in the opening set, the 16th-seeded Navarro bounced back by breaking twice over the next four games to take the opening set. Świątek broke Navarro twice in the second set to even the match and send it to a decisive third set.
