The National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak is hosting veneration and mass for thousands to honor its patroness Saint Therese.
The relics of Saint Therese will be at the basilica from Oct. 1-8.
The relics of St. Therese of Lisieux are in a metro Detroit basilica this week as part of the Catholic saint's tour around the United States.
This means the earthly remains of the beloved saint will bring thousands of visitors to honor the saint's life of virtue and ask for her prayers.
Named after St. Therese, the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica , a Roman Catholic church in Royal Oak, is honored to welcome its patroness saint's relics for the first time in 26 years, the Rev. John Bettin said.
