GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Grand Rapids Saturday will help raise money for research being conducted at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
Eight labs of researchers are looking for a cure, to improve treatments and to speed up early diagnosis.
“Trying to diagnose it earlier through things like blood tests,” Ben Combs, an assistant professor and researcher, said. “Identifying what’s happening in the disease that’s leading to the loss of neurons and then trying to develop treatments — things that actually will slow or stop the progression of the disease.”
