COLUMBIA, S.C. —
A public hearing for S.B. 323 took place Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the South Carolina State House as part of the Senate Medical Affairs Subcommittee.
A representative from Planned Parenthood said there were more than a hundred people who already signed up to testify during the hearing inside Gressette Room 105, and two overflow rooms were filled as well.
Outside of the room, hundreds more gathered to protest against the bill.
"They're threatening our ability to access health care when we need it, " Leilani Munter said. "I'm shocked to think that I'm I grew up in a world where I had more rights than perhaps my nieces will have in the future."
There were a few supporters of the bill that trickled through the crowd as well.
