ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) -- A man was sentenced to prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to charges connected to a fatal shooting that took place in 2024.
The Buncombe County District Attorney's Office announced Knowledge Jamal Davis, 19, will spend between 64 and 89 months in prison for voluntary manslaughter and discharging a weapon into an occupied property.
On the morning of June 16, 2024, Asheville police officers said they arrived at the Artisan Biltmore Park apartment complex after receiving a report of a shooting.
At the scene, police said they found Terry Lee Landrum dead from a gunshot wound inside his apartment.
Davis turned himself into police on June 19, 2024 and was held on no bond. He will complete his prison sentence at the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.
