NEW YORK -- Facing elimination, the New York Yankees will look to rebound in Game 2 Wednesday night after a 3-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 of the American League Wild Card series on Tuesday.
Manager Aaron Boone planned to lift starter Max Fried after the sixth inning of Game 1.
Fried inducing a double play and sitting on 99 pitches prompted Boone to reconsider and let his ace lefty get one more out in the seventh.
