Two people from West Nipissing face charges following a traffic stop in Sturgeon Falls on Monday.

Nipissing West OPP said the vehicle was pulled over on Queen Street shortly after noon.

“The driver was arrested for being a suspended driver, while the passenger of the vehicle was arrested for damaging the vehicle,” the OPP said in a release.

The registered owner of the vehicle told police it was taken without their consent.

Driver Andre Fournier, 49, was charged with operation while prohibited, taking a vehicle without permission, driving while under suspension, and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.

Passenger Tracy Sergerie, 30, was charged with mischief (destroys or damages property) and failure to comply with a probation order.
