NORFOLK, Va. — Two men were sentenced in connection with the 2023 shooting death of 28-year-old Jalaun Latavis Colbert outside his Hollister Avenue home.

Leon Malek Williams, 24, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of murder. In July, a judge sentenced him to 19 years in prison, with 14 years suspended. He will also serve five years of supervised probation and must maintain good behavior for 20 years after his release.

Williams’ co-defendant, 23-year-old Bryston Alexander Davis , went to trial and was convicted of conspiring to commit murder, using a firearm in the commission of murder, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. In June, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with eight years suspended, and will serve six years of supervised probat
