ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that human remains located in March have been identified after an extensive autopsy.

Sheriff Ravenell said the autopsy confirmed human remains discovered on March 13 off Highway 4 are those of Cloe Williams of Neeses.

“On one hand, we finally have an identity, yet on the other we still have a loss of life. My team has been in continued contact with the family since she went missing, and we ask prayers for them at this time,” the sheriff said.

Williams was 23 years old at the time she was reported missing in February 2024.

The sheriff said the case has now been classified as a homicide due to the autopsy revealing the Neeses woman suffered a gunshot wound.
