CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Brooks' Sandwich House announced it will be closed later this month during the murder trial for two men charged with killing co-owner Scott Brooks in December 2019.

Steven Staples and Terry Connor Jr. are both scheduled to stand trial beginning Oct. 27. Brooks was shot and killed while preparing to open the restaurant in December 2019. Neither suspect will face the death penalty in connection with the case.

David Brooks, Scott Brooks' twin brother who runs the family-owned burger shop in NoDa, announced the closure on the restaurant's Facebook page.
