ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Families can now apply for college financial aid for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The Rochester Education Foundation (REF) continues to make it easier for students to pursue their next steps.
The FAFSA process has become more streamlined in the last few years after corrections were made to technical errors, which led to a backlog of applications nationwide.
"Even though there is no time constraint, the earlier the better. You maximize how much aid you can get by getting it done earlier," said Phil Hounshell, director of college access and success for the Rochester Education Foundation.
