COLUMBIA — The city of Columbia and University of Missouri outlined a set of "immediate action items" to address what UM System President Mun Choi has called a "crime crisis" in a set of joint news releases Wednesday afternoon.

Additionally, Choi has invited Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe, members of the Columbia City Council, and the executive director of the Downtown Community Improvement District, Nickie Davis, to a walk-through of downtown Columbia Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Buffaloe told KOMU 8 she is not going on the walk and is not aware of any City Council members planning to go.

"My purpose is for all of us to see what is happening in downtown Columbia first-hand as we work together to address problems with crime and homelessness," Choi said in a news release from
