BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — An Apalachee High School teacher was relieved of their duties on Wednesday after they allegedly made a threat toward a student in class.
A letter sent to the parents of Apalachee High students, obtained by 11Alive, reads, "A student reported to our school administrators that a teacher made a threat toward a student during class."
The matter was referred to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office for investigation, Principal Jessica Rehberg said in the letter.
"Please know that we take all reports seriously and will not tolerate any threatening behavior or statements," the principal said in the letter.
Nearly a month ago, on Sept. 4, marked one year since a gunman opened fire inside the high school, tragically killing four people and injuring several more.
