LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The first indication for many about the government shutdown appeared at the Clinton Presidential Library on Wednesday. Would-be guests were met by a sign informing visitors that the library is closed temporarily.

"I wasn't sure that it was a part of the national [government] shutdown with it being a presidential museum, so I wasn't aware of it being closed," said Cathleen Nuxoll, who is visiting Arkansas with her husband.

Tuesday night, Congress failed to approve new federal funding which has led to the first government shutdown in nearly seven years.
