TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Leaders with CASA for Children and the Texarkana Children Advocacy Center say a loss in annual funding threatens some of the services they provide.
CASA advocates for children in the foster care system, while the advocacy center provides services for families impacted by abuse and neglect.
Breanne Bradshaw says as of October 1, both nonprofits have lost two major funding grants.
“Kids who have allegedly been abused or neglected will have to wait longer for their forensic interview. We will probably have to have a wait list for therapy for our children needing trauma base therapy. We will probably have to reduce or eliminate our prevention education programs,” she said.
