MONTROSE, Pa. — Out in Susquehanna County, the quiet plains of rural Pennsylvania surround the community.

Dairy farming is a popular option. The Elk Lake boy’s cross-country coach Will Squire used to work on a dairy farm for the Jones’ family, who’s had a long lineage of runners under Squire.

“My sisters, they raced. I think a couple of them meddled, Kenzie and Kerry,” said Kendel Jones, a senior on the team.

He continued on about his other siblings that ran cross-country and how they typically performed.

“My other sister Krista…she raced pretty good. She had been district champion three times. Also, Luke, my older brother, he'd been district champion three times,” said Jones.
