CLEVELAND (WJW) – A Beach Hazards Statement has been issued in Northeast Ohio by the National Weather Service on Wednesday.
According to the NWS, there is a risk of rip currents due to winds on Lake Erie in Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula Counties.
This statement is in effect through 2 a.m. on Thursday.
The NWS advises that people stay out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
“Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake,” the statement says.
