The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said the late Dr Jane Goodall held their son Prince Archie as a baby and "showered love and care to those who were privileged to know her".

Prince Harry and Meghan have paid tribute to Dame Jane following her death at 91 . She was in California on a speaking tour when she died from "natural causes".

The duke had a special friendship with the conservationist and chimpanzee expert, stretching back many years.

In a statement, shared hours after her passing, the royal couple described Dame Jane as "a visionary humanitarian, scientist, friend to the planet, and friend to us".
