Hurricane Imelda Pulls Deeper into the Atlantic, But its Punch can be Felt all across the U.S East Coast with Dangerous Coastal Concerns

With Imelda continuing to move north and east into the Atlantic, we're trending much drier inland this afternoon with persistent sunshine in the picture outdoors. However, along the coast impacts from Hurricane Imelda can still be felt even with the hurricane hundreds of East of the US. The high risk for rip currents will be felt through the weekend. High surf and beach erosion will continue with breaking waves between 5-8 feet tonight. Even through the weekend, expect these conditions to persist. Rain chances will increase as the workweek progresses, today along the coast there's a 20-30% coverage of showers, however, expect to see an increase to 60-70%
