BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The construction of Kern County’s first ever “Victims of Violent Crime Memorial” is nearing its completion to be unveiled at the upcoming Crime Victims’ Rights March and Candlelight Vigil, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.
The memorial is meant to be a tribute to honor those who have lost their lives to unlawful murder and manslaughter in Kern County, the DA’s Office said in a press release.
The memorial is set to be in the quad area between 1215 and 1115 Truxtun Avenue, the DA's Office told 17 News.
“When envisioning this memorial, my hope was to create a tribute that would forever preserve the memory of the lives lost, while also creating a space where the families of crime victims could find comfort and healing,” District Attorney
