SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- We have welcomed in October with warm and quiet weather after a September that brought a little bit of everything.

Meteorologist Jaelyn Borresen has a recap of this past month.

We have turned the calendar to October and it has been a hot start as highs stayed in the 80s. So far this fall, we have not been strangers to these above-average temperatures.

In Sioux Falls, nearly half of our days were at or above 80 degrees in September. It was a warmer month than what we typically have seen in the last 30 years for there and other areas like Aberdeen and Rapid City. This was quite the recovery after the first week brought record lows and frost advisories.

Somewhere that was close to normal was Pierre, but they had other categories that they overperformed in.
