BOSTON (WWLP) - Shannon O'Brien is back at the helm at the Cannabis Control Commission and kicked off her second run as chair with a commitment to collaboration.
O'Brien was the first chair of the CCC when it was founded following the legalization of marijuana in the Bay State in 2022.
In 2023, she was suspended for alleged bullying and racially insensitive comments and fired a year later. But last month, she won a wrongful termination lawsuit and was reinstated. "My commitment is to work collaboratively with all of you: cultivators, retailers, entrepreneurs, and consumers, to advance stability, fairness, and opportunity in this industry," said O'Brien.
