CIMARRON, N.M. —

A person was taken into custody after a home stabbing in Cimarron.

The Colfax County Sheriff's Office said it responded to a person being stabbed at a home on East Eighth Street. The first-arriving deputy spoke to someone exiting the front door before they attempted to leave the area.

That person was detained after a short foot pursuit, according to law enforcement. Medical responders transported the injured male to a hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

CCSO also said there is no threat to the community. The stabbing investigation is ongoing.
