MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - According to the Vermont Attorney General's office Wednesday, a licensed psychologist has been charged for false claims he submitted to Vermont Medicaid.

Robert Vaillancourt, 76, of Middlesex, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday. He was released on his own recognizance, though he faces four counts of felony Medicaid Fraud.

According to state investigators, Vaillancourt was the subject of an investigation brought by the Medicaid Fraud and Residential Abuse Unit (MFRAU). They say that he submitted over $600,000 in claims to the state for psychotherapy sessions that he had not provided, and also failed to keep accurate records of his patients.
