CARTHAGE, Mo. — Webb City fended off a Carthage team that attacked aggressively during the second set to take a 2-0 lead in the match and carry some momentum into the third and final set of the night on Tuesday at Carthage High School to earn a sweep.

The Cardinals (15-6) won that second set 25-23 — the closest of the night. The two teams were within three points of one another during the first 21 points of the third set but Webb City took a 12-9 lead and turned it into a 25-18 victory, leading by four or more the remainder of the set. ×
