CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) - Illinois volleyball is off to a strong start in Big Ten play.

The Illini swept Oregon in their conference opener, after the Ducks came to Champaign with a 9-1 record. Then, Chris Tamas' team picked up a road win against a ranked Purdue team in four sets.

The momentum shifted in a big way early in league play when Illinois closed out its first set of conference action, against Oregon, on a 13-2 run. Illinois won the set 26-24 after trailing 22-13.

However, the ability to mount an unprecedented comeback of that type may have stemmed from a time when Illinois was on the other side of one.

On Sept. 20, in the Illini's home opener against Iowa State, they led set one 24-21 and set two 24-18 but couldn't find the winning kill either time and dropped the match in four
