SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The County of San Diego has $1,139,000 available to residents owed refunds from taxes.
Taxpayers have until Sunday to claim amounts between $15 and $33,261.31 from the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s annual Unclaimed Monies program.
Unclaimed monies is usually a result from warrants/checks that are undeliverable by the postal service, overpaid taxes or instances in which individuals and organizations are doing business with or receiving County services, per the County of San Diego.
Money that isn't claimed by the deadline will be rolled into the General Fund.
