A man who breached his bail conditions to get his partner to retract her statement against him has been sent to prison.

43-year-old Ashley Farrell gave his girlfriend a 'burner' phone to talk to her after he was charged for an incident that occurred on 14 November 2024. Farrell, of Ellenbrook Road, Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe , would pressure his partner about retracting her statement, and would even visit her in Wales to go through the wording. His intention was to plead guilty following a withdrawal of the statement in order to get a suspended prison sentence. Police say that he had apologised to his partner, 'promising' that he'd change and they would go into couple's therapy.
