MARION — The Salvation Army of Southern Illinois is encouraging residents to support its “Adopt a Bag of Groceries” campaign as food insecurity continues to rise across the region.

Darla Harms, associate director of the Salvation Army in Southern Illinois, said the campaign was launched after the organization saw a sharp increase in need.
