Scares return with Solvang Haunted House

Solvang Parks & Rec will host its 31st annual Solvang Haunted House on Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25, themed “Nightmares …They Never End.”

The maze-like haunted house winds its way through Solvang Festival Theater and the adjacent grounds (420 Second St.), from 6-9:30 p.m. on both evenings.

A kid-friendlier version is offered from 6-6:30 p.m., and an adjoining Haunted House Fair kicks off at 5 p.m., featuring themed vendors, food and drinks for purchase, and face painting.

Halloween events in Solvang

• The City of Solvang Parks & Rec hosts “Solvang Spooktacular Cinema in the Park” on Friday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m., with an outdoor family-friendly film screening of Halloweentown, the witchy Disney Channel classic. Blankets are encouraged.
