AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — After a longtime Phoenix bakery suddenly closed , brides-to-be feared the worst. They were out a lot of money and were scared they would have no wedding cake.

The owners of Panaderia La Central watched Arizona’s Family’s story about this and swooped in to save the day.

For three decades, Yolanda Chavez has been baking cakes. Now, she’s using her skills for good by creating custom designs, free of charge, for two stressed out brides-to-be.

“This is, you know, I do it from my heart and I’m so happy that I can help,” said Chavez, owner of Panaderia La Central.

Wedding day is quickly approaching for Summer Welsh and Sarah Watson, but as recently as Tuesday, they worried their celebrations would be missing an essential element.
