Three Boston police officers were injured Wednesday afternoon while responding to a report of a student attacking staff at a therapeutic day school in the city’s South End neighborhood, police said.
Officers responded to a radio call reporting a student assaulting staff at the Melvin H. King South End Academy on Warren Avenue around 1:35 p.m., Boston police said in an email. While responding to the call, three officers received non-life-threatening injuries.
Two officers were taken to local hospitals for treatment, while the third received medical aid at their police station, police said. The student was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital for evaluation.
Boston police had not confirmed whether any school staff members were injured as a result of the incident as of 3 p.m. The department
