Santa Monica police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of assaulting an elderly security guard in late August.
According to the Santa Monica Police Department, the incident happened around 2:50 a.m. on Aug. 30 in the 600 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Investigators said the suspect attacked the guard using the victim’s own flashlight, injuring him before fleeing the area with the flashlight in hand.
Police described the suspect as a Black man between 25 and 30 years old, standing about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build and short curly hair.
