SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — Fentanyl was found outside of a Southington elementary school Wednesday afternoon, prompting a police K-9 search of the building.
Kelley Elementary School Principal Marilyn Kahl said in a letter to staff and families that a school staff member found a broken pill capsule on the sidewalk outside the school building.
Southington police responded to the school and tested the pill, determining that it contained fentanyl, Kahl said.
A police K-9 then searched the hallways and grounds of the school for drugs as physical education classes stayed inside. Nothing was found in the search.
