ST. LOUIS - Bernita Cole was left stranded at Saint Louis University Hospital for over 24 hours due to a transportation issue with Missouri's Medicaid system.

Cole, who relies on a 600-pound motorized wheelchair, was dropped off at the hospital for a 10 a.m. appointment on Tuesday morning.

"It just made me feel like they didn’t care about me! You know I’ve never felt that way before! And I’ve never had nobody treat me like that," Cole said.

Cornell Hill expressed frustration that his mother, Bernita, was left at the hospital without transportation.

“For some reason they could not provide my momma a ride at all! She had to stay more than 24 hours at a hospital. My mom is diabetic. She can’t walk. I can’t go pick her up because she uses a remote wheelchair that weighs about 600 lbs. It w
