GLOBE, Ariz. — Nearly four days after devastating flash floods swept through the towns of Globe and Miami, Arizona, search and rescue efforts have officially ended.

Tiffany Davila with the State Department of Forestry and Fire Management said on Wednesday there have been no new reports of missing or overdue individuals, so search and rescue teams have been released but will remain on standby if needed.

Now, officials say the focus is shifting to clean-up and recovery. A process, Davila said, that will take time.

On Wednesday, crews were still finding cars and propane tanks.

“We are noticing there are vehicles on top of vehicles buried in the sand and the mud,” said Davila.
