BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. —

A juror from a Beaver County murder trial in 2021 was back in court this week for an evidentiary hearing stemming from an appeal.

Sheldon Jeter is serving a life sentence for the murder of Tyric Pugh in 2020. His defense at the time requested an evidentiary hearing shortly after because of a juror’s behavior, but it was initially denied. Advertisement

Several years and multiple supreme and superior court decisions later, the hearing took place.

“Ultimately if the judge rules in favor of the defense, Mr. Jeter will have a new trial in this case,” said Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible.

Based on what he heard in court this week, Bible said he doesn’t foresee that happening.
